CONTENT CALENDAR FOR GOOGLE SHEETS AND EXCEL

A content calendar for creators and small businesses who run their own social media. Every post is one line, and the file lays out the month, what to make next, whether your pillars are balanced and which posts worked.
For one person or a small team, with no monthly app fee.

📊 WHAT IT DOES

✓ Posts: one line per post on one platform: date, format, title, pillar and status. Next step says what the post needs.
✓ Calendar: the month on one page, every post on its day, with US holidays and campaign starts marked.
✓ To Make: what to make first, by the day each post has to be ready, and the hours the week asks of you.
✓ Ideas and Pillars: an idea bank by pillar, and each pillar's share of the plan against its target.
✓ Platforms: a goal of posts a week on each one, weeks on goal and your own best time of day to post.
✓ Results: your most engaging posts, and what works best by format, day of the week and time of day.
✓ Repurpose: your strongest pieces, the platforms they haven't reached yet and the day they can go out again.
✓ Hashtags: sets to copy, how often you used each in 90 days and how its posts did against your average.
✓ Campaigns: launches, sales, holidays, collabs and paid posts: the plan, the results and the fee to collect.

📂 WHAT'S INSIDE: 15 TABS AND 40 CHARTS

✓ Start with these three: Start here, Posts, Home
✓ Plan: Calendar, To Make, Ideas, Campaigns
✓ Set up once: Platforms, Pillars, Hashtags, Settings
✓ Look back: Results, Repurpose, Month, Year

📝 HOW IT WORKS

  1. Open the PDF and click the link to make your own copy in Google Sheets. Or open the Excel file.
  2. On Start here, type your brand name. On Platforms, set how many posts a week you want on each and clear the ones you don't use.
  3. From then on, type only on Posts: date, platform, format and title. Move Status along as you make it. Add views, engagement and clicks a day or two after it goes out.
  4. Everything else fills in by itself. Home shows what goes out today, what to make this week and how your posts did.

📥 WHAT YOU GET

✓ Google Sheets version (the link is in the PDF)
✓ Excel version (.xlsx) for desktop Excel on Windows or Mac
✓ A filled example to look around, and a blank copy for your own data
✓ A PDF guide: a picture of every tab and your first five minutes, step by step
✓ A video guide for this planner (the link is in the PDF)

💻 GOOD TO KNOW

✓ Works with a free Google account. No add-ons, no subscription.
✓ Type only in the input cells. Formulas are protected, so you can't break them by accident.
✓ It does not post for you or pull numbers from your accounts. You post in the app and copy the numbers back.
✓ Three numbers per post: views, engagement (likes, comments, shares and saves together) and clicks.
✓ A title with no date is an idea. The same title on several lines counts as one piece shared across platforms.
✓ Starts with six common platforms, five pillars and ten formats. Rename them or add your own.
✓ US holidays move to next year by themselves, each with the day to start posting.
✓ Room for 1,000 posts, 10 platforms, 12 pillars, 20 hashtag sets and 20 campaigns.
✓ Best on a computer. The Google Sheets app works for quick entries on your phone.
✓ The Excel version may look slightly different from the photos (fonts, colors, charts). The photos show Google Sheets.
✓ English only. Not made for Apple Numbers.
✓ Free updates for life.
