Savings Tracker Spreadsheet for Google Sheets and Excel
SAVINGS TRACKER SPREADSHEET FOR GOOGLE SHEETS AND EXCEL
A savings tracker spreadsheet for anyone saving toward more than one goal at a time. It shows the date each goal actually reaches its number at your current pace, and what your accounts and savings rate add up to.
📊 WHAT IT DOES
✓ Rates: shows what each account earns, based on the rate in its own name, and what inflation takes from it.
✓ Runway: turns your safety net into months of living costs, not just a dollar amount.
✓ Savings rate: shows what share of your income actually stayed, not just the balance.
✓ On track and Forecast: shows the date each goal reaches its number at your current pace, and what would pull a late one back.
✓ Reconcile: compares your goals with your bank balance and shows the gap between them.
✓ Compounding: shows what the same money grows into over time, at the rate your accounts actually pay.
✓ Automation: shows which goals are funded by a standing transfer and which rely on you remembering.
✓ Setbacks: prices every dip out of savings in months, not dollars.
✓ Milestones and Timeline: shows which goals hit a round number, and which month ahead is the heaviest.

📝 HOW IT WORKS
- Open the PDF and click the link to make your own copy in Google Sheets. Or open the Excel file.
- On Start here, fill in the shaded cells: your name, household size, and the settings for your savings goal, big dips, inflation and account rates.
- Add every goal once on Goals, with its target, date and monthly transfer. Log deposits and dips as they happen.
- Everything else fills in by itself. Home shows what's saved, your savings rate, and which dates this pace misses.
